Hello, my name is Hannah Clayton. I am a LCMHCA in the state of North Carolina, practicing at Healing Together Counseling and Wellness. My passion is to be a fellow traveler in one’s journey towards healing and happiness. I received my master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Lenoir-Rhyne University. I have 5 years of experience working with children, adolescents, and young adults in both residential and outpatient settings as well as school and group settings. I am passionate about working with trauma, eating disorders, self-esteem struggles, depression, and anxiety.
I offer support, connection, and restoration to adolescents and adults on their individual path towards healing- whether that journey is healing from childhood pains, a desire to shift ongoing patterns that have become difficult to manage, navigating relationship struggles, creating new relationship dynamics, moving through experiences of sexual violence, or learning to live with grief and loss.
I hope to create a safe therapeutic relationship, where you can be known, seen, and heard. I am here to empower you to tap into your own abilities and strengths to create your desired path. I prioritize using a person-centered approach, developing a safe and trusting relationship, and integrating elements of DBT, ACT, mindfulness, and psychoanalytic techniques. I find joy in incorporating art, nature, and mindful movement into our time together as requested and welcome any passion of yours to accompany our therapeutic relationship.
Working with eating disorders is my specialty. I am passionate about utilizing the health at every size framework approach, and embodied recovery as a practice.
I am LGBTQIA+ affirming, sex positive, kink and sex work positive, monogamy and non-monogamy affirming. I actively educate myself to be competent and active in BIPOC rights, needs, and allyship.
