Jessie is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker Associate and Licensed Clinical Addiction Specialist Associate in Western North Carolina. She graduated from Louisiana State University with her Masters in Social Work in 2018. Since beginning her career in mental health, Jessie has worked in youth residential care as a crisis manager and in case management, focused on housing insecure individuals and the LGBTQ community. In graduate school, she completed a clinical internship providing outpatient counseling to adults and teens. She especially loves supporting young clients at this pivotal time in their development, as they learn to tap into their unique strengths and develop their sense of identity.
Jessie values collaborative care planning, holding the perspective that we all have within us the wisdom needed for growth and healing. She prioritizes a trauma-informed approach, understanding that our personal experiences shape us in deep ways. She has worked with clients from a wide variety of cultural and racial backgrounds, and continues to educate herself on how she can be an effective ally to the BIPOC community.
Jessie is trained in the use of Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, expressive arts therapy, narrative therapy, motivational interviewing, and solution-focused therapy, which she uses in an eclectic mix to suit the needs of each client. She has supported individuals with a variety of challenges such as self-harm, depression, anxiety, Borderline Personality Disorder, ADHD, and autism.
Outside of work, Jessie loves to dance, garden, travel to new places, and spend time with her furry and feathery family (1 dog, 2 cats, and 5 chickens).
