Laura is the co-founder of Healing Together Counseling PLLC and is a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor (LCMHC) and Licensed Clinical Addiction Specialist (LCAS) in North Carolina. She is Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in New Jersey and can provide Telehealth services to Florida residents. She has years of experience working with adolescents, families, and adults who have experienced complex trauma (and a variety of other mental health diagnoses) and from that experience believes that we are all doing the best that we can to survive our internal and external world. Along with the understanding that we are doing the best that we can, comes the dialectic perspective that we need to take control to improve our lives in order to create our life worth living.
Laura has a special interest in working with issues relating to complex trauma, PTSD, Borderline Personality Disorder, depression, anxiety, emotional dysregulation, substance use and in utilizing trauma-informed, person-centered, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy treatment with adolescents and adults. Laura is an ally for LGBTQIA+ community and is actively educating herself and others on anti-racist principles to better support BIPOC clients. Laura enjoys spending time with her husband and dogs, being active, exploring new places, traveling, watching tv shows and movies, and spending time with friends. She enjoys watching The Office, Gilmore Girls, Harry Potter, psychological thrillers and true crime in her free time.
