Sara is a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor (LCMHC) in North Carolina. She has 14 years of experience working in community mental health agencies, hospital emergency departments, and office-based counseling. Most recently, Sara worked on a psychiatric inpatient unit with adults and seniors. She was responsible for direct care services including completing psychological-social history evaluations, providing therapy for individuals, groups, and families, and initiating individualized treatment plans for clients. Sara has provided therapy for individuals of all age groups with wide range of diagnoses. She has a special interest in working with individuals diagnosed with Borderline Personality Disorder, Posttraumatic Stress Disorder, complex trauma, grief, anxiety, depression, and Bipolar Disorder. Sara’s treatment approach is Person-Centered, Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Motivational Interviewing. Sara’s primary interests are suicide prevention, crisis stabilization, and assisting clients in developing healthy coping strategies to manage life’s challenges . She also has experience in providing clinical case management to ensure her clients receive comprehensive care and support beyond individual and group therapy. Sara is an ally for LGBTQIA+ community and is actively educating self and others on anti-racist principles to better support BIPOC clients. Sara enjoys spending time with her family, cooking, reading, and gardening. She loves swimming and being outdoors.
