Sarah (she/her/hers) is a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor Associate (LCMHCA) from Lenoir-Rhyne University in Asheville.
Hey there! I provide individual counseling services to children and young adults offering support often related to trauma, identity, relationships, depression, anxiety, and school related stress. I have enjoyed working with the LGBTQIA+ population and with neurodivergent folks and I am committed to anti-racist and affirming care. My approach to therapy is trauma informed and as I work from a Person Centered Framework, I also like to utilize skills from Mindfulness, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Play Therapy, and Parts Work. Sessions may involve creative, interactive approaches such as storytelling, movement, art, and games to help foster connection and create a safe space for openness and vulnerability.
I believe that meaningful work and healing can take place when an individual is fully accepted by another and am honored to provide support as clients process life experiences and learn about themselves. I do my best to allow clients to lead during sessions as everyone knows themselves best, and I encourage us to get curious as a way to eliminate shame.
In my free time, I enjoy walks in nature, music, reading, and spending time with family and friends.
