Healing Together offers two types of groups: support and psychoeducation. All groups offer an opportunity to meet others who are experiencing similar difficulties and learn that we are not alone. In our support group, a trained therapist guides the members and the group members provide each other with various types of support. Members with the same struggles and obstacles can come together to learn coping strategies, feel more empowered, and for a sense of community. This may look like providing and evaluating relevant information, learning new strategies to address problems, relating personal experiences, listening to and accepting others' experiences, providing sympathetic understanding and establishing a social network. Our Psychoeducational groups are focused on learning how to more effectively cope with symptoms of mental health issues, diagnoses, daily obstacles, and regulating our emotions. These groups may look more like a ‘class’ where the therapist provides information, teaches skills, and uses real world examples to aid in the application of the skills in our daily lives.

Join us for this psychoeducation and skills-based meal group where clients will be assigned to bring a meal that challenges a fear food. Clients will complete the meal together, with support from therapist and
other clients in the group. The meal group format serves to challenge fear foods as well as
encourage eating with others and discouraging isolation in which eating disorders thrive. After
the meal, clients will process the meal and receive therapist support, feedback, and
psychoeducation. Clients will also receive weekly psychoeducation on new skills to support their
eating disorder recovery from modalities such as CBT, DBT, and ACT.
