Julia (she/her/hers) is a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor Associate (LCMHC) in western North Carolina. Julia graduated in 2020 with her Masters in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Lenoir-Rhyne University in Asheville. Julia is passionate about working to end mental health stigma and advocating for equal access to adequate mental health resources for all. Since the beginning of her career in mental health, Julia has worked with children, adolescents, and adults in residential, outpatient (including intensive outpatient), school-based, and inpatient treatment settings. Julia is an ally of the LGBTQIA+ community, and supporter of anti-racism and social justice principles.
Julia believes in empowering clients through compassion, evidence-based practices, humor, and acceptance. Julia practices from a humanistic, person-centered approach to counseling and adapting to clients’ unique needs. Julia’s therapeutic style pulls from different counseling perspectives including cognitive-behavioral (CBT), dialectical behavioral (DBT), emotion-focused (EFT), mindfulness techniques, strengths-based, and expressive arts therapy.
When she’s not with clients, Julia enjoys spending time with her family and dogs, seeing live music, trying new recipes, traveling, and watching shows or listening to podcasts about true crime.
