Kristin has been working in the behavioral health field for nearly 20 years, assisting folks with a variety of struggles and needs toward independence, a stronger sense of self, and healing from painful experiences. She carries a deep passion for neuroscience, and finds that understanding the patterns of behavior through this lens reduces feelings of shame, and unworthiness. She recognizes that we all have strategies we have adopted through life experiences to try and make our existence more manageable through: intellectualization, numbing out through substances or our relationship with food, or disconnecting. Though these strategies were helpful in the short term, as Thich Naht Hahn points out, "no mud, no lotus", sometimes we have to be present with the muck in order to grow into something powerful and amazing.
Kristin integrates understanding of trauma, spirituality, identity and what matters most to each person to help support growth and healing. Outside of work, Kristin is a proud twin mom, a Cat Weirdo and with her spouse: an avid gardener and dabbling homesteader.
