Rebecca started in the field of therapy by working through and with her own complex trauma, depression, and anxiety. While she recognizes this is an ongoing process, she has discovered the powerful healing, growth, and self-trust that can come from witnessing our own grief and resiliency, and as a result feels called to share this intuitive understanding with all others. Rebecca’s goal is to support you in (re)connecting to your natural inner wisdom so you can deepen your trust in your internal system, which she deeply believes is the only source that can guide you to your life’s purpose, meaning, and fulfillment.
The approaches to self-exploration and understanding Rebecca uses include Internal Family Systems, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Emotion-Focused Therapy, Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR), and other mindfulness-based and somatic interventions such as yoga. Rebecca holds a humanistic perspective based on Carl Rogers’ way of seeing individuals as inherently good and a harm reduction approach which emphasizes individuals’ right to make their own life choices while helping them do the least self-harm. Rebecca has a background in occupational therapy (OT) working with kids who were often diagnosed with ADHD, autism, sensory processing disorders, and other developmental/neurological differences. Rebecca has primarily provided therapy in school settings and at a nonprofit, primary care doctor's office in treating substance use/addiction. Rebecca has training in hypnosis, yoga (RYT 250), and EMDR and loves working with diverse backgrounds and ages and would love to work with anyone resonating with any, all, or none of this - all are welcome.
Rebecca has lived all over the US, spending most of her life in Detroit, MI and California. She enjoys dancing, writing, reading, rollerblading, playing outdoors, and deepening her self-understanding through meditation and play.
